Haute HoroscopeTM: GEMINI

by

Known for being dualistic, Gemini is versatile, communicative, witty, intellectual, and eloquent. Gemini likes being part of a group and always follows the rules of the game.  Gemini can adapt to any situation, but always tries to keep its independence.

This means  that Gemini style takes part in the trend, but only if it suits her and it isn’t too garish. Let’s see where these celebs fall on the Gemini style scale:

The Good

Jamie Lynn Sigler shines in this gold slip dress.  She sports the metallic trend without falling into the excessive bows, ribbons, and lace trap.

Jennifer Lopez is doing a spectacular balancing act on the thin line between feminine frill and foofy frumpy.  She makes it work by keeping all the lace and feather (or whatever that is) a monochomatic, neutral black.  The trendy peeptoe adds sex appeal to a look that might be dowdy.  I’m also loving that oh so 60s bouffant.

Mena Suvari looks great wearing the season’s ubiquitous gold tones.  But she shows her independence by rejecting the trendy skin-and-bones figure.  Hooray for healthy body images!

Garcielle Beauvais  is beautiful in fashionable black and white.  Her dress is a sexier take on vintage 50s inspired lines, which I (of course) love to death.

The Bad

Okay so we’ve all had to face it: the 80s are back.  But, really, couldn’t we just be inspired by the 80s without duplicating the decade altogether.  It looks like Renee Zellwegger stole this poor choice right outta the costume bin of any number of 80s teen flicks.  I’d almost bet that it has “M. Ringwald” written in magic marker on the tag.

Look for bold patterns in the coming seasons, but don’t emulate Sharon Stone, who overdoes the bold and overdoes the pattern in this picture.  The scary thing: this is much tamer that some of her other recent looks.

Here’s a good example of too much trend at once.  Naomi Campbell jumps onto both the polka-dot and gold bandwagons but falls short of looking good.  This supermodel needs new wardrobe and hair stylists.  I wonder if that awkward shrug-thingie is to prevent her from throwing one of her alleged diva-fits

The Ugly

Speaking of too many trends. Pink, what are you thinking?!  Ugg boots, pancho, fedora, skull&bones – This is an example of following the group a little too much.  I thought she said she didnt wanna be a stupid girl.

Heres the skulls and crossbones trend is failing miserably. Yet another Paris Hilton illustration of the fact that money cant buy style.  Tone down the camo print and this could look good… on someone else.
