Frankly, I’m not such a big fan of Chanel. Despite my admiration for Coco and her trailblazing legacy, I find the house far to rigid with it’s requirements for tradition. Legendary or not, boxy tweed in Pepto pink is just plain ugly! Still, I wouldn’t dare ignore a Chanel collection – in any season....

Junya Watanabe certainly can’t be accused of making clothes that are too plain. The Fall RTW 2009 collection is one that I love despite is non-wearability. It reminded me of the classic anime film, Spirited Away. There’s something pleasantly haunting about the billowy pieces – just like my favorite movies.

Athough some looks are all black and some area ll white, they don’t oppose each other. Somehow, the all white looks are every bit as “dark” as the all black, just as the all-black are as stark as the white ones. An interesting mix.
