Thierry Mugler has whipped up some costumes for superstar singer Beyonce for you world tour, which kicked off today in Canada. Mugler’s goal with the costumes was reportedly to portray “the duality between being a woman and a warrior.”

If by “warrior” Mugler is referring to the war against impending irrelevance in the fickler music industry, then he’s right on target. Beyonce has a hoard of haters, but you certainly can’t deny the woman’s staying power. She currently doesn’t have any true challengers to her helm at the top of popstardom. Not that I can see.
