While you won’t find me running out to buy her albums, I have occasionally admired Rihanna’s evolving style (directly opposite to my opinions of Keyshia Cole). The young performer has solidly put herself at the forefront of pop style culture and many are clamoring to imitate her.

But imitator BEWARE: Rihanna style – particularly in this shot – is not to be copied by just anyone. A skirt that short is highly difficult to work out. Even a lazy breeze could have the whole world what color your Thursday panties are, and if you’ve been alive for more than 3 or so decades this just doesn’t look dignified (sorry for the ageism).

Even on the 20-year old poptart, this skirt just look too extreme. Two or three more inches and it would have still be super sexy, but it would have also been chic. Oddly, if the skirt were tight-fitting it would look less dangerous. This cut, however, makes the skirt look like an apron – a SMALL apron. Singer and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson’s star was certainly shining yesterday at Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, FL. Despite being with months of the tragic deaths of her mother, brother, and nephew, Jennifer gave an amazing performance of the national anthem before the game. And she looked fantastic doing it. Her look was chic and celeb worthy, but still casual enough not to look ridiculous on the football field. The girl has come a LONG way from American Idol.

Keyshia Cole Covers Vibe’s First Ever Style Issue… Hmmm

Now.. I don’t want to take anything away from Miss Cole. She’s a great music artist with a fantastic voice. Hell, I’m not even into R&B, but I’ve still found myself rocking to her music. But, uh, how in the hell did this chick end up on the cover of a “style” issue?

Who wants to bet those 31 “most stylish stars” are actually simply the celebs with the best publicity teams?

She looks very pretty on this cover (which is, itself, beautifully styled), but this girl is far from being a style icon. I just don’t know. Maybe they are setting her up for a fabulous makeover? Have a look at some previous publicity shots and you’ll see what I mean:
