Lady Gaga cover’s 944 magazine’s January 2010 Vanguard issue. “There’s no one like me, and their never was,” she says in a state republished by 944. But before you start crying about Madonna or Bowie or Grace Jones, keep listening… “I know my greatness as an individual,” she continues. “I want every woman to be able to say that.”

Snobs like Antonio Berardi could stand to stop and listen to what Gaga has to say. I admit that have yet to fall for her music, but I can see that it’s not “meaningless” as the designer described it (meanwhile Berardi dresses the likes of Megan Fox and Amber Rose – hmmmm). And afterall, if Gaga had tried to hit the scene belting indie rock ballads about existentialism, would we all know her? My guess is no. Like it or lump it pop music is pervasive, and if you want a worldwide audience it’s one of the best vehicles you can choose.

Arlenis Sosa covers the May issue of Vogue Germany, bringing the first touch of color to the European mag since a very boring Naomi Campbell cover five years ago.

Sosa’s star is clearly on the rise. Let’s hope to see a a lot more like the editorial below.

Curiously, it’s the “music” issue. Hmmm. At any rate, the photos are nice enough – even if there’s no real style story.

Superstar Beyonce appears on the cover of US Vogue’s April 2009 issue. The volume is the annual “shape” issue and bears the “real women have curves” cliche on the cover – which pictures the notoriously curvy singer sans any of her famous curves. I guess the magazine believes Beyonce “at her best” is Beyonce from the waist up.

That is, better if you have no sense of satire and even less sense of style. Frankly, I’m MORE offended by this cover. How on earth is this the style issue cover and the drawings are so utterly devoid of STYLE?!

Of course, folks are complaining about this cover too. Calling it offensive because the First Lady is more than a style icon. They need to mad that Michelle looks like she’s been dressed by Newport News. Ewwww

Who wants to bet those 31 “most stylish stars” are actually simply the celebs with the best publicity teams?

She looks very pretty on this cover (which is, itself, beautifully styled), but this girl is far from being a style icon. I just don’t know. Maybe they are setting her up for a fabulous makeover? Have a look at some previous publicity shots and you’ll see what I mean:
