Ahhhh Libra... It is my favorite time of year. The weather is gorgeous: cool enough to break out the boots now and then, but still warm enough to go out on the town at night without piling on outfit-crushing layers. Libra, being about balance, loves the middle - the in between: feminine but not frilly, alluring but not overtly sexy, subtle and muted embellishments. Comfort Shoes

Every now and then you just have to indulge: Comfort Shoes. And, no, I'm not talking about crocs and aerosoles. I mean comfort a la comfort food. When your feeling down in the dumps you can go for some mashed potatoes or you can go shopping. Nothing beats the blues like a pair of fabulous shoes! The high lasts at least as long as the play-dress-up session once you get home.

When you're doing frivolous shopping, nothing feels better than buying something completely impractical that you'll only use once or twice a year. These sky-high, hot pink, Louis Vuitton wedge sandals are too loud for frequent wear, but they are soooo scrumptious.

In the summer time there's an all-white party every other day, it seems. From my observation, the hardest part to pull off are the white shoes. With shoes like these Givenchy pumps, you can make a plain white tee look hot.

Holy pastime, Cult members! I have just found your next addictive time waster. It will take the place of all the solitaires and sudokus you can find. But beware! You can get sucked in and never want to come out. Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you, Polyvore.com

Cult vets might recall a post way back when that confessed my guilty pleasure in online dress up games. Still, those games didn't manage to hold my attention long - the choices being so few and all. Polyvore is incredible in it's variety (including interior design pieces) and usability. I can't believe I've been ignorant of it for so long! In fact, the creator(s) have been an IQON contact of mine for awhile and I still didn't know about it. Shameful, really...

Spring Accessories Report: Plastics

Plastic isn't generally considered a luxury textile. Right now, however, designers are enticing well-heeled shopper to spend thousands on accessories made from PVC, lucite, plexiglass, and other transparent plastics.

I don't really see these as great investment pieces. Not only is the material less than luxurious, it's not the most durable of trends. But if I had money to burn... these aren't bad.

I found out this band is opening for Bloc Party @ the Tabernacle in Atlanta (a show that i'm already estatic over) so I checked them out. GOOD NEWS: i love it. I'm already click clicking at iTunes to make sure i know every word by the show on the 31st. oh joy Lead singer and bassist, Shingai Shoniwa has the sweet vocals of her countrywoman, Corinne Bailey Rae, but adds a welcome bit of sour with her hard rock edge. If your as enamoured with the latest rush of soul-tinged punk as I am, DEFinitely check on this one.

And then, in her pictures she's captioned the below photo, "stealing the rainbow back from the homos." Gosh, I think I'm in musical love. And then she's playing Center Stage on my birthday. Must be meant!

This was one of those records I bought, then forgot about. I found it again by accident, browsing the pod one day. Five Eight's "Square Peg" is officially my theme song... for now. I've always felt like a square peg. Don't mind it so much now, though :)

It was really hard for me to remove Mark Linn from my profile because i fucking love his music right now. Still, i'm so exciting about the new developments in my life that i just had give Res some play (i love her too, though she's making us all wait so damn long for the album). this song just feels so appropriate right now because i am definitely ON MY WAY!

Ok, get ready to thank me. I was searching for a jazz song i'd heard in a store on iTunes when I stumbled upon Mark Linn.

Who know such soul could spring from Denmark (sorry Danes)? On his new album, "The Minutes" Linn tempers a soulful JT-esque voice with some believable hard rock. e.g. his "Spin" - one of my other favorites so far. This guy's ability to convincingly cross genres puts him in exclusive category of artists i just love, like Esthero and Res. Unfortunely the MTV&Radio machine that is music makes it rough for artists that create so freely to be as popular as they should be. It's hard to categorize them - that is, harder to sell them.
