Oh the plague of luxury. But who is to blame for the accessibility of luxury goods? I would think it's the designers and CEO's themselves who are so eager to push their designs, that they'll outfit any celebrity who is just enjoying their 15 minutes of fame (that probably came from a sex tape, or crotch shot with no panties). What's changed mostly is society. Luxury brands used to belong to royalty and the old rich. I think with the influx of nouveau rich imitating the way that they think the rich should dress and should buy, and the accessibility of the internet changing the way people shop (sites like Bluefly and Zappos) luxury brands are almost indistinguishable from regular, more expensive brands.

And Olivia Palermo is everything she's expected to be-a beautiful, rich bitch. Nothing else to her. But it's interesting how pretentious she is, when she's wearing an Urban Outfitters jacket (in the picture accompanying your post) :) People are funny.
