Fall RTW 2009: And then there was Marc

by

The Much Celebrated Marc Jacobs

So much fanfare surrounds this man and his clothes that if I’m anything other than blown away by his collections it’s a disappointment. Such is the case for Fall 2009.

There were a few shocking bolts of color that were pleasing to my eye (you know, the 4th fashion eye). Overall, however, I found the offering quite boring. It was wacky, but not inspired. It flouted custom without being especially forward thinking. I dunno, perhaps I’m being a bit hard. Still, I can’t help but wonder what the designer’s infamous slashing of his guest list was really about.

I did spot 9 pleasing looks from the collection, but from a 61-look batch that’s not so good.
